1. Start by setting simple goals: That will help to
encourage you, and to build and sustain your motivation.
2. Make it fun: Try and choose something that you like to do
as you’ll give up quickly if it’s drudgery.
3. Build exercise into your daily routine: Finding time can
be hard – and become an excuse. So include simple things like climbing the
stairs instead of taking the elevator.
4. Write down your goals: Committing goals to paper, and
then marking any progress, and then ticking met goals off, is often highly
motivating.
5. Rope in other people: Running with a friend, or being
part of a team, is a good way of helping each other to keep going, and
remaining committed to your fitness plan.
6. Reward yourself. After every session, take some time to
savour the good feeling that comes from having exercised.
